Yesterday I finally knocked off gyro DLO > Toe Whirl > Spin Clip [repeat] from my challenges, so I thought it'd be a good excuse for me to update/revisit my challenge thread.
C-Fan wrote: Find a routine song and start developing a routine by May.
Done and done. Now I need to download the song, edit it so it works for a 2 minute routine, and start practicing it every session. I think Age or Vince can help me with the first two, while the last may be more challenging now that my iPod and camera are both broken. Whatever, at least I've started on this process.
C-Fan wrote:Long term
One more dropless routine this year.
At least I've started working towards this.
C-Fan wrote: General:

1. Do more spinning osii on both sides.

2. Cut out strong side pdx mirage as a bail.
I'm doing better on the first, and excellent on the second. Flip spinning osis still isn't natural, but I feel it coming in. As for bailing with strong pdx mirage, I'll average maybe one or two total in a 2 hour session. It's almost a thing of the past.
C-Fan wrote:Spinning mobius
My mobius is improving, but I haven't been practicing double spins too much. This is pretty much the last of my dream big tricks that I really want to hit before I retire. While I may not be specifically skooling this trick, I feel like I'm making good progress on its components, which has me hopeful I will hit it in the future.
C-Fan wrote: Hit 10 unique spinning tricks in a row
I think I'll skool this one next session. It's do-able, and I think I'm ready for it.
C-Fan wrote:Dyno x10 (current record is 8, as of Apr 21)
I've been good about practicing this, and I think I'm making slight improvement. I should start throwing more flip dynos in my normal strings.
C-Fan wrote: Gyro clipper x10
I still haven't broken double digits since I hit 14 back in February. I've been good about practicing it though.

Two things that I really should be skooling are flip zooming, and flip toe spins. I'm also a little worried that my strong spinning is getting better at a faster rate than my flip spinning, so I'll make an effort to not let one get too much better than the other. Overall, I'd say my transition to a spinning game is going pretty well. Now that I'm considering competing at Worlds though, I'm thinking I should practice some steps/pixies/atomics for my routine so I have some variety, as well as better consistency.

Thanks Janis; I actually hit that again today.

On that note, I just wanted to say that whenever I hit/rehit a challenge, I make a note of it in the second post of this thread. So while it may look like I've been neglecting my challenge thread, I actually haven't. I've just been editing that post.

The way things are looking now, its entirely possible I'll only go to two events this summer where I can do this (NYFA tourney and Worlds). So I may only have two chances, hopefully three, to accomplish this goal. I think it's do-able though.

Oh, and today Stan challenged me to hit symp GDLO, and I did. :)

Since I got my camera back, I've re-hit a bunch of my challenges on video and I've uploaded them as links in the "completed challenges" section of the second post. There's like 10 new videos there now.

your shred is insane ken... your last one shot was awesome.

take a stab at this one...

 Ducking Pdx DLO>Paradon>Ripwalk>To a run

then do the link backwards with a barfly instead of paradon...

 Ducking Pdx DLO>Paradon>Ripwalk>Ripwalk>Barfly>Ducking Pdx DLO

that would look tight!

Looks like I'm gonna need another two years to achieve this.

I forbid you to start this with a ducking clipper:

Thanks guys, it was a fun challenge.
Matt K wrote:I forbid you to start this with a ducking clipper:
Actually, ducking clipper only really helps me with big spinning tricks, and only on one side. I found your challenge to be hard regardless of what tricks I prefaced it with.
Matt K wrote:Pdx whirl>spinning osis>pdx whirl>gyro osis rpt
You know, when I first saw this I thought: "Easy. Three or four tries tops." It turns out that this drill is a lot trickier than I anticipated. That usually is a good sign in a challenge, because it means that I needed to work on some concepts anyway. I'm gonna keep working on this one, which should strengthen my peeking osii and my ability to spin out of pdx whirls.

Hit another challenge of mine on video on Sunday:

Last trick is thin/the, but the way my neck feels these days, I didn't want to try it again. The hardest part of this challenge for me was just keeping track of when to dive and when to duck.

5 canicule after even searching at the internet. Refreshing. During that time I got in 3 shreds with Josh M and some Phoenix shredders and I accomplished a brace added challenges.

I hardly filmed at all, so I may try and re-hit them after on vid. With some of these challenges, I anticipate it's a acceptable abstraction for me to abide skooling them, even if I've hit them already already, just so I abide alive those concepts. I may get in a ablaze abandoned affair tomorrow, so if you accord me a claiming now I ability accord it a shot.

Figured it'd be good for my spinning game to go back and re-hit a bunch of challenges. Here's what I managed today:

Recently I've re-hit a few of my old challenges and got them on film. Some were for my first time on film, and others were just better form than in the past. I also thought I knocked off one challenge (vortex-gyro clip bsos), but then I realized the challenge actually called for repeat, and not bsos, so I need to try it again later.
