San Diego Footbag Jam '08 footbag.org video uploaded now
Here is the footage, and hope you guys enjoy. The video before you is the fruits of my labor (and the kickers too!) from a twenty some hour car ride from San Jose to Santa Cruz then finally San Diego. This was my first time editing (besides using I-Movies twice before). Please leave comments and advice if you so please, and of course enjoy!
Edit: Things I Would Have Liked To Do (This was really just a test video)
-Include more footage of a variety of players (I ended up kicking so I missed out on a lot of good moments)
-I felt that maybe the filming was too simple except for the Chad and Evan take where they had a good long string so I toyed around with it a little.
-Make the video longer (meaning I'll do a redux or something later) turns out of the footage didn't go through when I was putting it on the computer.
--Ben: I agree with the title, and credits. What I was hoping for was a big trick and then BAM title, but it fades. Also it looked a bit too childish and unprofessional (not that I am). Perhaps a better way to include the credits? Because every now and then I'll see a player and be like WHO IS that or, what song was that?(hard to find if there are no lyrics)
--Abram: He brought up the video picks up and then just kind of suddenly rolls to credits (being short also). I am going to dig through the footage again and see if I can some how make the video longer maybe? Yay nay? Turns out there is some good footage I could still use.
Edit: -Realized I messed up the 08' should be '08, I'll amend the correction later...

I really liked this video. The music seemed perfect for the shred. I like how you included a bunch of different players/styles. It wasn't over-edited like some videos are. The only things I didn't like were the title screen and the credits screen, which is no big deal.
I would like to download it.
Thanks!

wow. i appreciate this video.
i like that you tried various camera positions. even though, it is quite short, i was in the mood for some shred and i got it, nice. and this shred is even quite intense. evan gatesmen? wow, is he coming to worlds?
besides of that, the vid also contained some of the suns energy, coz it brightened up my mind and i'm smiling as i'm writing this comment.

Actually Richie was kicking a lot. But of course the camera can't be in every circle at all times. But great video.
Be careful what you wish for

Well thanks for the um, praise
Nice to see one's sloppy work enjoyed. Well the bad news is my laptop crashed out on me, the good news? I managed to back up everything before the day of the crash. So once its fixed up again I'll add more to the video and fix some of the minor problems.
Glad to see people liked the camera angles! I've always been a fan of Eli's footbag videos which seem like both a documentary of shred, along with being a piece of art. As for the sun shot, it was kind of taken to the extreme in the Ryan Mulroney Special, as there was a shot of Ryan blocking out the sun for a few seconds
Who else to do that too then to Chad!
Richard Abshire did kick a decent amount, the problem was I was kicking with him for a good amount of time... So I didn't get any of his strings, also same with Chris as I didn't manage to get much of him.
-I would have liked to have held the camera a bit tighter as I find it shakes bit too much.
-The editing seems along too simple, and the fact it looks like I just threw everything together and said DONE! (which I didn't
But in another point of view of mine, its better than it being over edited...
-I had a theme going with the video, but kind of lost it and I want to try to grab it once again! (I'll post when its done) Also I'd like to have a part two maybe if there is enough good footage (just have to dig a bit more)
Also a side note, if Evan is coming to worlds is pending right now
We'll see if something works out!
