Vasek better watch out! (freestyle soccer)

Post by footbagi » 04 Nov 2007 09:04

This has probably been seen before, IDK.
People say freestyle footbag is good because of the vast variety of tricks you can do compared to freestyle soccer.

But this guy REALLY pushes the envelope. I'm sure there's more like him.

he's not bad but I've seen better. There are people who don't have to "bail to toe kicks" like he does. . . or at least for as long as he does. But still it's really entertaining. I like how it's pretty different from footbag in the flow and you can tell they think about how to land or finish tricks differently than we do. We kind of have to be more perfectionists for our game. And I agree with Tom - definitely a good showman. 8)

One of my bigger peeves is that all street performers (that do proper shows) have only one joke when this happens; "It's just a stage they're going through." Street performs tell the same jokes gets so tedious.

edit;

Can't say it was that amazing. Yeah he's really good, but if you watch the other youtube videos of freestyle soccer stuff that have been posted on this forum over the years, I don't know if he's any better. I also think that most footbaggers could probably do about 95% of his single tricks in one session of attempting. Obviously the skill is linking the stuff together, not doing a single kick or stall, but with Vasek, there are certainly some tricks he hits while busking where I'm not confident I could say that at all. I think Vasek probably has a lot on this guy.

edit2;

Here is the guy who plays does the same thing in Australia all the time. Not sure if he's technically better, but he has more party tricks :P

There are literally thousands of these kinds of videos on youtube.

95%? Hmmm..... I WISH

Yes, Vasek owns this guy. That Mr. Woo though, very skilled.

you know it's funny with this guy (from the video above). I've seen this video before and I've watched it a few times each. I don't know - pit him up alongside Vasek or any number of amazingly fast and/or creative footbag players and jeez I'm not sure who'd I enjoy watching more. Watching this guy's freestyle soccer skills make me feel like I did the first time I ever saw a video of Alan Haggett doing a ripwalk up a few steps and then going back down (first video of a freestyle footbag trick I ever saw). It's just raw uniqueness, though you can definitely see similar or identical tricks. But even knowing the sport of footbag well this guy still makes me go 8O :?:

someone should cue him in on symposium though. He'd come up with some harder crazier stuff.

I agree with you Pat. Both very amazing talents. Incomparable.

This new video is unbelievable. A lot of footbag related tricks and links and a ton of really creative stuff that I've never dreamed of seeing done with a soccer ball. Around the world with his head from back stall was cool. This guy and Jorden need to get together for a month. They would make up a million new concepts.

Thanks for that vid.

8O 8O 8O

fuck. he's good.

although freestyle football actually has way fewer moves than us, i am sure for the average joe it really seems the other way around.

that last video posted, on the street, he could hang with the best footbaggers in the world, absolutely bomb skills. this represents to me the most complex freestyle soccer ive seen yet, he had control for miles, datw in>datw out, all kinds of crazy manipulations using the ground, both legs, and every other part of his body. neck>double spinning neck was nuts too. it really is like watching a footbagger who uses a huge bag and the style reflects it in a way i havent seen yet.

Reading these comments makes me feel like the only person to have watched a freestyle soccer video on youtube...

The very first guy at the start of one of those videos hits consecutive back side toe blurs with a soccerball.

Also I'm going to go ahead and presume that mosher's tail with a soccer ball only requires you to be able to do a handstand, so not really sure what's impressive about it. He's holding the ball to his leg with his foot, this is very easy to do.

he also does a moshers tail, then switches to his other leg and brings it down.

VERY SKILLED, FUN TO WATCH, INNOVATIVE,

Why is it always a matter of whether someone can or has already hit something. It's an art. Sure it's up for comments and discussion, but why not say something positive. People are just enjoying themselves.

This guy should start playing footbag, and then when someone walks up to him and says, "...yeah, but can you do it with a soccer ball?", he could be all, "psshhh, yarp!". :lol:
