Anssi & Oxana 25th January

Post by Anz » 25 Jan 2008 14:16

Oxana was in Turku this week and we had a session almost everyday. I didn't bring the camera until Friday, which was a mistake because we both played like poop.
If you haven't seen Oxana play before, she's better than this. If you haven't seen me play before... then that's a shame.
We only had a 45 minute session today, so not much footage to chooce from. Short runs from both, but I guess that's ok. Minimum editing and a crappy song. Since YouTube is so popular nowadays, I'm using it too, maybe even the laziest modifieders will then watch this.

lenght: 3:37
music: Turmion kätilöt - SIKA!

More detailed post about the week and the sessions in Turku footblog. Enjoy the video!

So happy to see that :D
props Oxana, you have soooo much improvement since i last saw you,
damn !!! so much sets!! you freak !!! and many new moves that i've never seen from you before, really that was great. :)
Props Anzz, cool stuff, you play like a machine damn it! but i can tell you've played a lot before, you look a little unstable (like when a person is tired) but you still have a lot of sick combos there, do a alpine blurriest b2b next time :)
who chose the music, i like it :D
Dimitrov.

I tried to make a comment on YouTube, but it often happens that I close the browser too soon and the comment is lost.
I also really liked the spanishflys.
Enterrage seems to be trendy now. I was digging that, and the nearly-sauced flurry! Oxana seems to be busting. I don't know if she was injured or anything last I saw her play, but she is easily twice as good as when I played with her at Worlds. Her style is so solid too. Love it.
Oh yeah, and I'll second the comment about the great music choice :D
Thanks for Sharing Anssi!

that was a really awesome video, I liked the song and the shred, definitely! I think a little more set variety would be good from oxana. she's obviously strong and controlled enough. how about some more fairy, atomic, quantum? I liked mobius and tripwalk > blurry whirl, and blurriest. :) really good shred from both players. thanks for this.
BRICK!

It used to be that you'd see shred footage of women, and you'd have to judge them on a different scale (e.g. "she's really a good woman player" etc.). Then I watch vids like this lately, and am so happy to see that it's changed to "wow, she's a good player". Seriously, I was impressed.

And Anz, I really enjoyed watching your portions as well. Has anyone said that your style reminds them of Eli? It did for me (and that's a good thing). So athletic and fast, great links.

(and thanks for youtube, I'm a lazy modified viewer, and youtube is so easy to watch)

2 genuine players in one session is a real treat. I personally didn't care for the music, but whatever. The shred was great. The spanishfly run took me by surprise, and the bsos enterrage was a joy to see as well. My only (small) complaint was that you misspelled Oxana's last name at the end of the vid.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

The fifth Spanisfhly is 'the'.

I did not misspel Oxana's surname.

Ken, good point about the Genuine, although I haven't Genuine runs in this video. Oxana has one Genuine shuffle run here, but she did much longer ones with more variety (Whirls, Spinning, Ducking) earlier this week, which was totaly awesome. Genuine rules!

Sweet, then nevermind. :)

Was that your spanishfly record btw? And was Oxana just visiting, or can we expect more vids?

Oxana, your playing is great! Looks like when you shredding, you tired of your long strings and then just drop))
Anz, your style look`s great in 2nd quantum`s!!Better than in lavers or in 1st quantums, strings are hard!Tomahawk>spikehammer and spanish fly x6 was awesome, thanks a lot for the video!

My Spanishfly record is six. And Oxana was in Turku for a week, but that session was our last one. I wrote about the whole weeks sessions in Turku Footblog.
