World Cup Everything

Post by Corey » 17 Jun 2010 10:46

What Are you thoughts on everything so far?

The ball?
Who you think will win?
Vuvuzelas?

Now that every team has a game under their belt who do you think will win? With many of the favorites playing below expectations (Italy, England, Spain, and Brazil) will it be an underdog?

Argentina or Germany is my bet I guess, since they seem to be playing well and scoring goals. I've barely watched any of it though, since it's late at night and I've had 3 9am exams recently (third today). Really looking forward to watching a few games though :)

Australia has managed to carry on our hopeless form that we've maintained for the last year or so, and I think it's mainly an indication in the difference in quality of coaches between Guus, who was amazing and Pim, who seems to me to be terrible. Not that I know a lot about soccer, and surprisingly don't even play :P

Soccer world cup is definitely my favourite international sporting event though, so once my last exam is over on Monday I will probably watch every game :D

Yeah personally I think it will be Argentina or the Ivory Coast. They both Are playing well and seem to have preety easy paths now that Germany lost in a highly controversial game with Miroslav Klose getting a red card.
It will be fun to see how Maradona uses Messi against more skilled teams. as well as how Drogba plays with his injury.

Australia just seems to be lacking talent plus Cahill got a red card. Only a few players play with top clubs on Australia.

Being a huge soccer fan the Soccer/ football world cup is my favorite sporting event. Wish I was there

the USA game today was sick, but the ref was shitty. He didnt even give a reason for not counting the last american goal.

US out (atleast one African team is left)

However the knock stages should bring some more excitement to the tournament. England vs Germany and Spain vs Portugal. 8O Two good games.

waaaah England - Germany I am gonna die, the germans have been saying all sort of crap so really all that matters to me is if we beat them this world cup, but then we will go against argentina :S don;t want to loose to them either :P

Germany just got justice for 1966.

I wasn't sure who to go for, and then there was a story on the news about English supporters heckling the Germans over the world wars. Definitely going for Germany now. Great game so far.

Germany looked great. Ozil, Muller, Podolski, and Klose were fantastic. Hopefully they face Argentina.

Brazil Lost!
Uruguay vs Holland and
(Argentina/Germany) vs (Paraguay/Spain)
Holland will most likely make it to the final. Although Uruguay doesn't appear to have a major weakness. Argentina Germany and Spain are all pretty equal IMO.
Prediction: Spain Wins :?

At the end of the group stages I made the prediction on facebook that the final would be Netherlands vs Argentina and keen soccer friend made me a $10 bet that neither would make the finals. It was pretty silly to accept the bet, but I'm looking good now :) Definitely don't want to count any chickens yet though.

I guess I'm going with whoever wins tonight's game - Germany or Argentina to win the thing still :)

The whole country has gone maddd, unbelievable..
I don't know who I want to win the game tonight, Spain or Germany.
A final against our neighbours would be dramatically thrilling :D
Yet losing from Germany is considered absolutely not an option

I think you have a much better chance of beating Spain than Germany. If Germany win tonight, they're my bet for the final.

I presume Spain are the favourites, but I'm going for the Netherlands :) Should be epic. I think I have an 8am lecture that day too. Game starts at 4am here. Convenient. Getting up for it though, not doing an all nighter.
