Re: World Footbag Championships 2012: Warsaw, Poland
How to get to the event site
By plane:
Warsaw has two airports. The main one is Warsaw Chopin Airport (http://www.lotnisko-chopina.pl/), situated in the south of the city, 10 km from the centre, 19 km from the tournament’s site. The taxi to the centre costs €10, to the tournament’s site costs €25. The airport is also well connected with the city by public transport.
To get to the TOURNAMENT’S SITE, take bus 188 (direction: Gocławek Wschodni) and go to GUS bus stop (20 minutes). There, change to tram 17 (direction: Zajezdnia Żoliborz) and go to AWF tram stop (30 minutes). You will need two tickets (€2).
To get to the IBIS HOTEL, take bus 175 (direction: Pl.Piłsudskiego) and go to DW. CENTRALNY bus stop (25 minutes). There, change to bus 127 (direction: Bródno-Podgrodzie) and go to MURANOWSKA bus stop (15 minutes). You will need two tickets (€2).
To get to the CITY CENTRE, take bus 175 (direction: Pl.Piłsudskiego) and go to CENTRUM bus stop (30 minutes). You will need one ticket (€1).
Another airport is situated in Modlin (http://www.modlinairport.pl/), 27 km from the tournament’s site, 35 km from the city centre. To get to Warsaw, you will need to take a bus or a train.
By train:
There are direct connections with most European capitals. Central Railaway Station in Warsaw (Warszawa Centralna) is situated in the very centre of the city.

Some useful information for the players:
1. There will be an early check-in on Saturday in the event site! It starts at 4 p.m. inside the building. Then you can chill out in a nearby bar, have some pick-up games or shred outside.
2. The ATM is in the Student’s House.
3. There will be food and drinks sold cheaply in the Players’ Zone.
4. We will provide sports massage for almost the whole day, every day! Don’t worry about your muscles – they will be well taken care of!
5. There is a kiosk with food, phone cards, bus tickets, etc. in the Student’s House.
6. The Student’s House has a kitchen with a microwave, kettle, fridge. Check the fridge for a little surprise when you arrive!
7. There will be taps with drinkable water near the gyms to refill your bottles. Don’t drink tap water there!

Are there any plans for live streaming from the event?

Does the student housing accept credit card? Or is it cash only?

I'm hoping that, when I arrive, the Student Housing will take a credit card. But, the Worlds web-site does say that cash is due on arrival:
So, while I'm hoping to use plastic, I'm preparing to use paper. (funny, I never before thought of that cliche question "paper or plastic?" as applying to money, just grocery bags...)PRICES (paid cash at the arrival):

Re: World Footbag Championships 2012: Warsaw, Poland
I confess: with the olympics going on, I'm super keen to watch live athletic feats and I'm very much hoping for streaming for as much as possible, especially finals of course. And it doesn't need to be a planner either... I know lots of y'all have fancy phones that can record stuff and post to youtube quite quickly. Get on that, kids!
My favorite trick is knowing when to pass.

Good luck to all the competitors!
Worlds is always a great experience, I'm sure it's gonna be a blast this year.

It would be great to have a stream of sideline shred as well. My favourite
I think UStream has been used at previous Worlds? I seem to recall...
