windows to apple transition
windows to apple transition
So I've been wanting a laptop for a while now, and i have recently started looking around for some
a laptop that caught my eye was the new MacBook
now my question is
whats the transition from windows to mac like?
my whole world has been windows ... i feel that if i get a mac tis gonna be like starting all over again
but one of my friends told me that apple has great tech-support, so if i ever run into a problem ill be helped right away
any advice would be great
i cant wait to read the "stick with windows" or "fuck mac, go linux" posts

I've never used a mac, but I watch TechTV all the time . . .
It seems like the general agreement is that if you know what you're doing on Window's it should be a pretty easy transition, as long as you're good at fiddling around to figure things out.
I'd say it'd take a while to get used to it... *shrugs*

honestly its not that bag, i used to use a mac to program on and i had windows at home, the transition is pretty smooth, just takes maybe a week to pick up on a few things
Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.

The new MacBooks are sick!!! If anyone watched the latest vid of Dylan, that video quality is what those comps are capable of.
I want one!
As far as the actual topic of this thread goes... I find that a lot of skills between Mac and Windows are pretty interchangable, it shouldn't take more than a short while to make the transition.

The new mac books imho look like oversize calculators with crappy buttons to match.

imo, the software produced by both Apple and Windows sucks pretty terribly. Excessive bells and whistles at the expense of minimalism and functionality, but that's just my thing. I prefer open source software. I'd be writing this post from a Linux distro if my 300-400 highly detailed playlists in iTunes weren't chaining me down.
