Hey, I'm new here

Post by Jiffy » 18 Nov 2010 11:32

I just made my third 32 panel foot bag from ultra suede and steel pellets I got from pellets LLC. I started playing about a year ago but stopped after a month or so, I have started again and hope to stick with it this time. Currently the best trick I can do is an atw. Not real great but whatever. So this is just me saying hi to the footbaging community. Thx

As a fellow noob, allow me to welcome you!
Congrats on stitching your third 32 panel, that must have been very rewarding! I'd love to see some photos if you'd be able to.

Honestly, idk how to post pics on here, as soon as I get that figured out I will have some photos up. One question I have tho is if facile frays a lot at the edges, because my ultra suede does. (I'm not sure if what I have is ultra suede light, soft, or just ultra suede because I got tat joannes fabric and it was just under a sign that said "synthetic suedes" I think it is ultra suede tho. Thx in advance. And also for those of you that use button thread rather than floss, how do you tie your knot at the beginning of a pent, and also at the end.

Hi and welcome!

If your material is fraying at the edges then I would suspect it isnt Ultrasuede. It could be a microsuede or one of the many other synthetic suedes you can find out there.

Thats not to say its no good, the proof is in the pictures :)

Upload your images to somewhere like photobucket, then use the "Img" button on the Post form to insert it

I've seen your bags man, good stuff. You're going to get good at stitching quickly. I sent you a PM about your location. Good luck with footbag and hope to meet you at some upcoming tournaments or jams.

Thx, but I probably won't be making it to tournaments anytime soon. Lol I don't think my parents would be really thrilled. I know they wouldn't want to go and I can't go alone so... A few years from now maybe

WELCOME TO THE OHIO SHRED COMMUNITY!

Funstylin' informed me you live in/around Columbus? There's about 4 shred-heads around here; myself, Mike Angeski, Brandon Watts, and Danney Petrick

My name is Nick, when do you want to session?

How old are you? Actually, you don't have to answer that. I started playing footbag when I was 15 and soon after there was a Tournament a few hours from home. I assumed my mom wouldn't take me either. I don't remember all the details, but I think she even said no. A member of the community here on Modified actually wrote her a short letter telling her what great people most Footbaggers were and that they would look out for me, and she ended up taking me. It was the first time I played with real freestylers and I learned SOO much that weekend. So, don't give up right away.
